1959 Type 1 National Match M2 Garand rifle. This rifle wears a 1959 NM barrel (marked only on chanber area with Greek Cross 1959 NM assembly mark). Other key characteristics of 1959 NM are the NM marked rear signt base and the NM marked windage knob. Additionally, this rifle has the match modified front handguard that has been screwed to the lower barrel band. Removed from match use with the advent of the Tpye 2 NM rifles, this one was sent to Greece under Foreigh Military Assistance as evidenced by the "X" stamp on the pistol grip and used as a standard service rifle. This is a rare opportunity to grab a true Type 1 NM rifle that was not upgraded to later NM standards (and stamped with later NM upgrade marks.) These Type 1 Greek rifles were sold by the CMP for $1500 and up when they had them in 2007. This rifle is from my personal collection. I do not collect NM rifles, so here you go. I WILL TRADE this rifle for a Korov Arsenal SVT-40 Rifle. Log number 03-186 $1395.00 |
