| Reproduction Japanese Arisaka Rifle Slings |
With original Japanese rifle slings running several hundred dollars each and being very difficult to find, I commissioned some reproductions from a professional leather artist. Since a sling made from new leather just wouldn't look right on a 70 year old rifle, these reproduction Japanese Arisaka slings are made from old but strong leather, patterned after the originals. Each sling will include two sewn keepers, and a brass buckle and button. If you have a "naked" Japanese WWII rifle, this fully functional sling will dress it properly and stand up to years of use in the field and at the range! Original slings for these rifles are usually quite fragile and, if ever found for sale, usually run well over $175. New leather repros are usually found around $25 to $50 + shipping, and are, well, new. These used slings are priced higher than brand new repros, but they are much more pleasing in appearance on a well aged combat used rifle. PLEASE NOTE: I DON'T SELL FAKES. I, in no way, intend for these slings to be passed off as originals. They are simply a "working sling" which looks appropriate for the rifle. Historical Note: While original T38 Carbine slings were provided with only one keeper, many were observed with a second keeper installed similar to the Type-I and Type 99 slings. We elected to produce this reproduction with two keepers to provide the ability to rig it either way. Please note, these slings are made from used leather of high quality, so they will vary in color and markings from sling to sling.
