The blade is made from Morakniv’s proprietary high-carbon steel. This carbon steel makes the knife strong, resistant to shock & damage and easier to re-sharpen. Carbon steel can be affected by moisture and corrosive environments so make knife maintenance a habit with cleaning and oiling the blade after use and periodically while in storage.
